Michael P.

On April 1, 2020,Of McKees Rocks, Michael Paul Harsh, Jr., age 77 after a valiant fight, entered into God’s Kingdom. Mike was the son of Anna (Sichak) and Michael Harsh, loving Husband of 56 years to Beverly Jean (Mudge), devoted Dad to Kimberly (Eric) Ruud and Michael Harsh (Cher); Brother to Barbara Moskal and the departed Dorothy Sadler; Grandpap (Gus) to Teressa Harsh, Angela Harsh, Tiffany Harsh and Kristen Ruud; Happy Pappy to 7 great grandchildren and Uncle Mike to numerous nieces and nephews. Mike spent the majority of his life working for Pitt Oil and Oil Service. Even after retiring, he spent his days selling used cars. He loved his church and during the good days, was an usher. He was an avid collector of diecast cars, coins and stamps, loved riding his bike around Presston and visiting Terry’s Snack Shop to catch up with everyone. Most recently, he enjoyed watching his favorite TV shows and eating his grilled foods and sweets. The family wishes to extend its’ heartfelt gratitude to Fresenius Ohio Valley who became his second family and Heritage Kennedy for its’ compassion during his last days. Due to COVID 19, services will be private. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Mike was one of the most kind hearted and generous patients I have met at Fresenius Ohio Valley. He was loved by the patients and staff. He was always bringing in goodies for staff and patients. He helped fellow patients in need with gifts of food and his favorite Premier Protein Drink. He was my walking commercial for it. I looked forward to my weekly visits with Mike and I know you all will miss him dearly. He loved his family a lot and was always sharing stories. Please know that you all have been in my prayers at this sad time. He will not be forgotten! Chris McCuen, Dietitian at Fresenius Ohio Valley

There are so many memories of "Uncle" Mike. He was a rock. Mike and Jean helped raise me, and I will always be so thankful for both of them. He spoke his mind whether you wanted to hear it or not! I always valued his advice, even if I didn't take it all the time. He truly was the "Happy Pappy". Kim, Rique, Mike Jr, and the rest of the family: Mike cemented his place in heaven with his partnership with God. We all have the chance to see him again. We all need to be more like him. I want to see him again. He and Lizzy Bullets are watching us together now. I can't wait to celebrate his life, it's a life worth celebrating. I will miss him.
