Vinnie was a wonderfully kind and happy 8th grader. I first met him at the Mars Middle School where he was my student. He was always so positive and always ready to help with anything that required attention. I also knew Vinnie from Mars Home were I both worked and visited. My own boys were very young and Vinnie ( along with another Mars Home youth) would come to visit, fish the creek, and they instantly became like big brothers to my sons, playing ball, running in the fields, fishing and playing in general. I always knew that Vinnie would keep them away from danger and safe. My sons (43 and 39) still talk about Vinnie and his buddy. We have lost a wonderful guy, with such a good heart. 2 years ago he found me on line and we chatted while he was in nursing care. We planned to have lunch, unfortunately we will never have that lunch. He has left me with good memories, good stories, and loss of a good guy.
